Board of County Commissioners Meeting
April 24, 2006
The Canadian County Board of Commissioners met at 9:00 a.m. in the Public Meeting Room. Those present were: Grant Hedrick, Jr., Phil Carson, Don Young, Ronnie Funck, Audre Knott, Warren Riggs, Brad Tipton, Ted Mittelstaedt, Conrad, Dudderar, Pat Hammert and Phyllis Blair.
Hedrick called the meeting to order.
Young moved, seconded by Carson to approve the minutes of the April 17, 2006 meeting. Voting aye, Hedrick, Carson and Young.
Carson moved, seconded by Young to approve appropriations and transfers.

Young moved, seconded by Carson to approve a letter of approval from the Oklahoma Department of Commerce/Office of Community Development Emergency Shelter grant in the amount of $20,000.00 for Youth and Family Services; the Emergency Shelter Grant Sponsor and Shelter Agreement for Youth and Family Services to provide funds for costs of administration, renovation/rehabilitation, operations, essential and prevention services; and the Request for the release of funds and certification for the Emergency Shelter Grant Program from the Oklahoma Department of Commerce/Office of Community Development for Canadian County. Voting aye, Hedrick, Carson and Young.
Young moved, seconded by Carson to approve Sick Leave Donations to John Greany from the following:
a) Deborah Kemp – 8 hours
b) Jan DeLana – 8 hours
c) Nancy Galyon – 8 hours
d) Carol Conner – 40hours
e) Davie T. Lawrence – 40 hours
Voting aye, Hedrick, Carson and Young.
The Commissioners gave the following reports:
Young stated he attended the Tuesday morning coffee in Mustang. He stated they graded, hauled rip rap around Cedar Lake, had the brush cutter running and are getting ready to start mowing.
Carson stated District #1 was working on Gregory Road where they installed some culverts, hauled some rip rap and are getting ready to chip seal. He stated they are also working on 220th between Richland Road and Cimarron Road doing some drainage work, hauled 820 tons of shale to Evans Road between 206th – 220th, had the graders out, picked up trash, sent the dozer to Concho to help with the fire, hauled chips to the shop for chip seal and had 2 patch trucks out on Banner Road and Piedmont. He stated they also hauled gyp to the Okarche area and worked on equipment at the shop. He stated he asked Ronnie Funck to represent him at the FCI luncheon last week, attended the Citizen’s Advisory Council at the Juvenile Justice Center and the Yukon Chamber coffee.
Hedrick stated they are finishing the base work on Jensen Road, installed some culverts on Choctaw getting ready to do base work and hauled rock and gyp to the yard. He stated he attended the COWRA meeting and a SIG-SIF meeting last week.
There was no new business.
Carson moved, seconded by Young to approve Blanket Purchase Orders. Voting aye, Hedrick, Carson and Young.
Carson moved, seconded by Young to approve Claims. Voting aye, Hedrick, Carson and Young.
The time being 9:30 a.m., bids received for Bid #2005-06-12/Furnish & Install A/C split system gas heat units/Educational Building were opened.
The first bid opened was from Capitol Service Company for $32,838.00. The second bid opened was from Ezell’s Refrigeration for $18,844.00. The third bid opened was from Bailey Brothers for $23,282.00 and the fourth bid opened was from Gentry Service & Repair for $21,900.00. Young moved, seconded by Carson to postpone awarding the bid until the bids are reviewed. Voting aye, Hedrick, Carson and Young.
