Board of County Commissioners Meeting

February 6, 2006

 

The Canadian County Board of Commissioners met at 9:00 a.m. in the Public Meeting Room.  Those present were:  Grant Hedrick, Jr., Phil Carson, Don Young, Phyllis Blair, Conrad Dudderar and Pat Hammert.

 

Hedrick called the meeting to order.

 

Young moved, seconded by Carson to approve the minutes of the January 30,

2006 meeting.  Voting aye, Hedrick, Carson and Young.

 

Young moved, seconded by Carson to approve appropriations and transfers.

Voting aye, Hedrick, Carson and Young.

 

      APPROPRIATIONS:

There were no comments from the public.

 

Carson moved, seconded by Young to approve an Agreement between the Canadian County Home Finance Authority and the Board of County Commissioners to provide accounting and bookkeeping functions for $100.00 per month.  Voting aye, Hedrick, Carson and Young.

 

Carson moved, seconded by Young to approve the January 2006 monthly report for the Assessor’s Office.  Voting aye, Hedrick, Carson and Young.

 

Young moved, seconded by Carson to approve the Sheriff’s Report for the Board of County Prisoners for January 2006.  Voting aye, Hedrick, Carson and Young.

 

Carson moved, seconded by Young to approve an Interlocal Agreement between the Oklahoma Environmental Management Authority (OEMA), the Board of County Commissioners of Canadian County and the Canadian County Sheriff for a deputy sheriff to act as full-time Environment Compliance Officer (“Trash

Cop”) for the purpose of enforcing the solid waste laws of the State of Oklahoma and issuing citations for the violation of such laws.  Voting aye, Hedrick, Carson and Young.

 

Hedrick stated agenda item #9, designating Amy Brandley as the Canadian County Floodplain Manager will tabled until next week.

 

Young moved, seconded by Carson to approve the Monthly Depository Reports for the Children’s Justice Center for:

a)    July 2005

b)    August 2005

c)    September 2005

d)    October 2005

e)    November 2005

f)    December 2005

Voting aye, Hedrick, Carson and Young.

 

 

The Commissioners gave the following reports:

 

Young stated they have been grading, cutting brush, running the shoulder disk, hauling rock and installing and raising some tin horns.  He stated he attended the Mustang Tuesday morning coffee.

 

 

Carson stated he sent four of the District #1 employees to the herbicide application school in Tulsa last week. He stated District #1 hauled 375 tons of shale to 220th between Manning and Evans Roads, installed a culvert at Radio Road ½ mile south of County Line Road, hauled 300 tons of crusher run to 234th west of County Line Road, loaded 1,955 gallons of patch oil and patched in the Piedmont area.  He stated they also ran graders and cut brush and ran the chipper.  He stated he attended the Canadian County Republican Party meeting last week.

 

Hedrick stated they patched, hauled milled asphalt to Memorial Road and Calumet Road, hauled gyp to the northwest part of the County and hauled 1 ½”

rock to the thin spots.  He stated they also cleaned ditches and had the graders running.  He stated he attended a Tax Roll Corrections Board meeting, met with Judge Miller and the Children’s Justice Center and attended the Yukon Chamber coffee last week.

 

There was no new business.

 

Young moved, seconded by Carson to approve Blanket Purchase Orders.  Voting aye, Hedrick, Carson and Young.

 

Young moved, seconded by Carson to approve Claims.  Voting aye, Hedrick, Carson and Young. 

 

Young moved, seconded by Carson to adjourn.  Voting aye, Hedrick, Carson and Young.
