MINUTES
CANADIAN COUNTY FLOODPLAIN BOARD
SPECIAL MEETING
DATE: WEDNESDAY, MAY 10, 2006
TIME: 4:00PM
PLACE: COMMISSIONERS’ MEETING ROOM
Floodplain board members present: Clarence McCloud, Carl Richey, and Jack Scott. Floodplain board member absent: Cecil Bearden, Frank Austin.
Also present: Amy Brandley, Floodplain Administrator; Jerry Smith, County Emergency Manager; Albert Alberts; Hal Nine; LuAnn Nine; Phil Carson.
Scott called the meeting to order at 4:00pm.
McCloud motioned to accept the minutes of the April 12, 2006 meeting; Richey seconded; voting aye, McLoud, Richey, Scott.
Board considered approval of the plat, Pecan Grove Farms Section IV, located in se4 se4 Section 35 T13N R6W. Phil Carson addressed the board and stated that Mr. Alberts is “the picture of doing it right” and a “model example.” Richey motioned to approve the plat, McCloud seconded; voting aye, McCloud, Richey, Scott.
Hal Nine addressed the board, asking for advice in constructing a pond, and a pad on which to place a mobile home on his 40 acres, nw4 ne4 section 21 T13N R8W. Board members advised him to hire an engineer, get help from NRCS with the pond, and come back to the board when he has engineered plans to apply for a permit before he begins construction.
McCloud motioned to adjourn, Richey seconded, voting aye, McLoud, Richey, Scott. Meeting adjourned at 4:41pm.
