Marriage (If you are being married by a judge you MUST make an appointment with the bailiff before coming to the court house. Please call 405-295-6160)
Age 18 or older:
Proof of age is required. Please bring in one of the following: a U.S. state issued I.D., or a passport (make sure the passport is not expired).
Parental consent is required: One parent or legal guardian of the 16-17 year old must be present. Birth certificate and ID required.
When applying for a marriage license using a driver's license or passport issued outside the United States a Birth Certificate translated into English must also be presented. A translated birth certificate may be obtained from Language International Group, LLC

Male and Female:
Under 16, marriage is prohibited in this state except by court order.
Persons divorced in Oklahoma may not marry anyone other than their previous spouse for a period of six months after the divorce decree is filed.
Oklahoma law does not require a premarital blood test.
No residency requirements. However, when applying for your marriage license you must do so no more than ten (10) days before the ceremony. The completed marriage license must be returned to the Court Clerk's Office within 5 days from the performance of marriage by minister.
$50.00 license fee (cash only) or $5.00 (cash only) if premarital counseling is completed. The reduced fee shall apply upon presentation to the court clerk of an original certificate of successful completion of a premarital counseling program. The certificate must be an original document on letterhead, not a copy, and shall state that the named persons have successfully completed the premarital counseling requirements. If you have a judge’s ceremony you will need to pay an additional $10.00 cash fee for judge’s services.
NO COPIES, FAXES OR EMAILED CERTIFICATES QUALIFY.
To make an appointment with a judge, please call the judge’s secretary/bailiff (write down the name of the judge) to set an appointment. Give this information to the marriage license deputy clerk. Arrive at the courthouse at least 30 minutes before your appointment so we may issue the marriage license to you before you go before the judge to be married.
The premarital counseling program must be conducted in accordance with Oklahoma State 43 O.S. 5.1.
No waiting period required except for those under the age of 18. If under age 18, there is a 72 hour waiting period.
Waived period exception:
Written waiver signed by Judge.
