Lacey Dawson
Commissioner District 2
Lacey Dawson lives in Union City, Okla with her husband, Ryan, and son, Ryler. Ryan is the lineman for a rural water authority and serves on the town board of Union City as Vice Mayor. They run a farming operation in Union City and are very active in the community. Together, they also have an adult son, Rustin Dawson who resides in Union City as well. Rustin is a graduate from Union City High School, attended Canadian Valley Vo-Tech after graduation, and currently is employed at Friend’s Custom Granite in the Banner area. Ryler attends Union City Schools.
Lacey grew up between Union City and Mustang on Cimarron Rd. and attended Union City Public Schools. She graduated with honors, and then went on to earn an Associate’s Degree in Secondary Education from Redlands Community College.
In 2003, Lacey was approached to work in the Canadian County Court Clerk’s Office. She began working in the criminal division of the court system and worked and trained through both the criminal and civil division departments until she was promoted to office supervisor. She worked there until 2010 when she was asked to come work at Canadian County District 1. Lacey transferred out to the district yard as a receiving agent for the district. She worked her way up to serving as Chief Deputy to the Commissioner and has served in that role ever since. Lacey is well respected among her peers for her diligence and work ethic.
In 2025, Lacey was sworn in as County Commissioner for Canadian County District 2.
In addition to serving the county, Lacey takes an active role in serving her community. She served on the Union City School Board for 10 years where she has gained experience and training in budget preparations, policy, and board leadership. Additionally, Lacey was appointed by the Oklahoma Conservation Commission where she served on the East Canadian County Conservation Board working to engage with producers to keep our air, water, soil, habitats, and farmland healthy for all.
Lacey is a devout Christian whose faith in God both drives her and keeps her grounded. She has served in leadership positions within her church, and currently serves in her church’s Children’s Ministry sharing God’s love with elementary age students.
